The bristles were thick and held A LOT of mascara. Application proved to be a little difficult because of all the mascara the brush held. It went on really thick and it took quite a few wriggles of the brush to smooth it out. Although it went on thick, the formula was workable because it did not dry quickly and it did not remain clumpy. Here are my lashes after application. (Sorry for the scary, super-wide eye!)
There's some curl, especially near the inner part of my eye. Length is definitely improved, and there's some added volume as well. I did notice a bit of an uneven lash separation. Also, as I was removing the product it became apparent how much mascara was actually on my lashes. I'm not sure if that's necessarily a bad thing, but it was a bit of a messy removal. The effects of the Almay are nice, but application and clean up weren't the easiest. It's a nice, comprehensive mascara for someone who has the time and skill to work with it a bit.
